At Great Plains Transport, we utilize two different APUs. With any APU,
there are a few tips and tricks to keep in mind when operating the unit.

Auxiliary Power Facts at a Glance
1. You can maintain your bunk at a desired temperature by preheating/cooling your tractor and closing the curtains to your bunk.
2. Remember to leave in battery mode when truck is not running.
3. Remember to plug-in to shore power as much as possible if you have an electric APU
4. If the outside temperature is outside of 40-70 degrees Fahrenheit, you are able to idle your truck and not depend solely on the APU. This can prevent gelling of the equipment in colder temperatures.
5. Green Machines are coolant heated, therefore they will produce the same temperature as your truck.
6. Thermo King has an Espar Airtronic Heater, which is a diesel fired air heater
7. Carrier has a 110 volt heater
